FSNCPS' GREAT CLOSING PARTY: DAS RACIST live + SUPER DJS LINE UP

Una cerimonia di chiusura che si preannuncia spettacolare, quella della nona stagione di Fish’n’Chips.
A dare inizio al baccanale abbiamo invitato una delle band più hype del momento: DAS RACIST.

Sì avete letto bene, quei 3 debosciati di Brooklyn che suonano un rap sarcastico, scorretto e arty al contempo. Sì proprio loro, quelli di cui parlano tutti i bloggers à la page, incensati dall’impietoso Pitchfork e quelli della hit di culto Combination Pizza Hut And Taco Bell. Sempre gli stessi il cui secondo mixtape Sit Down Man, che ha registrato circa 40000 download in due settimane, vanta collaborazioni con Diplo, Teengirl Fantasy e Devo Springsteen. Insomma saranno loro che faranno festa insieme a noi e che saranno protagonisti di uno show divertissement nel quale non è dato sapere cosa accadrà.

E dopo il live, come ogni anno, una super line up in consolle per farvi ballare finchè avrete fiato. Oltre ai padroni di casa Lino e Nic, a dispensare la migliore musica Indie, Elettronica e chissà cos’altro, ci saranno tutti i djs che si sono esibiti nel corso di questa stagione: Andrea Esu (L-Ektrica), Fabio Luzietti (Screamadelica), Diego Manfreda (5PW Wardrobe), Loveless, Seb “Twin pics” e la nostra amatissima door bitch Simona.

Ve l’avevamo anticipato, in questo fine stagione vi avremmo trattato con i guanti bianchi: la migliore musica dal vivo per iniziare e un dancefloor ad hoc per proseguire la festa fino allo sfinimento.

A distanza di una sola settimana da un closing party [20 maggio] che si preannuncia epico, abbiamo chiamato ad esibirsi sul nostro palco – per la prima volta a Roma - una delle ...band di spicco della scena indipendente di L.A: ABE VIGODA.

Solo chi ha talento e attitudine ama reinventarsi e cambiare stile a seconda del proprio istinto. E’ il caso degli ABE VIGODA i quali, con già 4 album all’attivo, sono riusciti a passare dall’angular-punk degli esordi (Kid City, 2007) al suono che loro stessi hanno definito Tropical Punk (Skeleton, 2008), fino ad a giungere al loro ultimo lavoro – incensato dalla critica all’unanimità – Crush, nel quale esplorano i territori più oscuri della (cold) wave e riescono a innestare sinergie e collisioni tra synth avvolgenti e chitarre shoegaze.

Preparatevi ad un live toccante, nel quale, dopo un fragoroso party in spiaggia, si smaltiscono gli effetti della sbornia in un turbine emozionale in cui l’euforia perde le sue tinte cangianti a favore di tensioni e riflessioni monocromatiche.

Non farete in tempo a riprendervi dallo stordimento procurato dalla musica di Abe Vigoda, quando , ancora smarriti, vi ritroverete a ballare in pista finchè le vostre gambe vi assisteranno.

LE CORPS MINCE DE FRANÇOISE
Rising out of Helsinki’s local electro-pop-punk scene in 2007, sisters Emma and Mia Kemppainen’s musical vehicle LCMDF (Le Corps Mince de Francoise) was quickly picked up by bloggers and music fans across the globe. Their incredibly vibrant, leftfield pop gained them countless fans, earning them the top spot on the Hype Machine, out-ranking even Kanye West.
Since seeing the band’s first ever UK show, Heavenly have wanted to work with the band. Following them from their early shows the label travelled to gigs in Oslo and Trondheim, Norway and their hometown of Helsinki where they played a sold out night to 600 fans jumping off the walls. They left the show determined to sign them. A year later with their debut album recorded, the band is set to release their debut single ‘Gandhi’ as a free download on November 29th.
‘Gandhi’ re-imagines Sean Ryder’s skewed pop vision, but sung by Nordic sirens who cut their teeth listening to everyone from the Beastie Boys to Gaga whilst getting lost in Ghost World. It’s as immediate and accessible as it is dazzlingly unique.
In keeping with their Dance music and Pop heritage, Heavenly say of their newest signing “the band hold true the qualities of the bands we love: conviction, tunes & a love of POP”

Prosegue la rassegna di esclusivi live show che andranno a concludere la nona stagione di Fish’n’Chips.

Dopo l’esuberante Indie Pop di Frankie & The Heartstrings, VENERDI’ 29 APRILE saliranno sul palco dell’Akab, PASSARELLA DEATH SQUAD, duo di base a Londra che, per la prima volta a Roma, presenterà dal vivo il proprio album di debutto.

La musica di PASSARELLA DEATH SQUAD - noti anche come fashion designers di culto – è una prov...ocante combinazione di oscura elettronica e seducenti canzoni scandite dall’ammaliante voce della cantante Emily, una sorta di Marlene Dietrich del XXI secolo.

Le loro influenze vanno da mostri sacri del passato come Velvet Underground, PIL o Cocteau Twins fino ad arrivare ai suoni contemporanei di Dj Hell o LFO. Il risultato è un sound unico, sensuale e intossicante, avvolto da atmosfere dal mood goth/wave che finiscono per ipnotizzare.

Prodotto da Tim Holmes dei Death In Vegas, l’omonimo disco di PDS è stato accolto con recensioni entusiaste dalla critica e ha portato il duo ad esibirsi a fianco di artisti come James Holden, Tiga, Trevor Jackson e, recentemente, Battles e Is Tropical.

Nell’arco della serata avverrà anche la presentazione della prima compilation di DISCIPLINE, brand di abbigliamento e label discografica, che lancia ufficialmente “DISCIPLINE – A Contemporary Picture of The New Obscure Italo Music”: un’antologia che raccoglie i nomi più interessanti della scena Indie undeground italiana tra cui Death In Plains, Young Wrist, His Clancyness ed un rmx curato da We Have Band. 200 copie in vinile che ogni Indie junky non deve lasciarsi sfuggire.

In consolle – oltre ai padroni di casa Lino e Nic – ci saranno Gae Antonacci (DISCIPLINE) e Diego Manfreda, fashion designer e fondatore del brand 5PW Wardrobe, che scalderanno il dancefloor con la migliore musica Indie e elettronica.

La serata è parte della rassegna The Spirit Of British Music, progetto patrocinato dal British Council e dall'Ambasciata Inglese a Roma – che prevede una serie di concerti dedicati alla musica britannica moderna e contemporanea.
